Launch of a New Generation?!

Is it strange to begin a new blog on election day?

At first I thought yes.

I thought, I must write about the election rather then what I want this blog to focus on such as creativity, technology, new media, web based content, live video broadcasting, branding, online contests, and how the internet as it now exist is the tool of global social change.  Then of course as I sat and watched today's election coverage live online, and looking backwards over the past year of campaigning, I realized once again that the amazing tools and excitement of new technology has been completely embraced by Barack Obama and really everyone has followed, including now all of the network. So, it is here on election day we can reflect on ways in which the new media interactive revolution, I have been deeply engrossed in for the last 5 years professionally has matured and become part of common consciousness.

I heard a great question today asked of David Plouffe, Barack Obama's campaign manager.  They asked if Obama becomes president will he continue to use all of these internet tools that he has masterfully orchestrated and that millions of people have partcipated in using during his campaign, as part of his Presidency. The question was not directly answered, but he did say that the millions of people who found a voice by using the internet will go on voicing their opinions, organizing, and networking. And this I believe to be true.

I look forward to helping organizations, individuals and companies that have something to offer the world use these tools to make a difference.  This may come when a company that has created a new technology for building a greener skyscraper, or a drive shaft for an electric car, or help someone sell a product that actually looks great when you where it and can be thrown in the compost heap when you are done with it or even an amazing musician spread their music farther and wider!

Final thoughts...I titled this Launch of a New Generation?!  Well, in some ways this is a culmination of the 60's civil rights and visions of change generation...and then in other ways it is a combination of generations all coming together...for instance the great poster at the top of the blog was created by guerilla street marketer/artist/revolutionary Shepard Fairey of "Obey Giant" fame, we also have teenagers even though they can't vote, spreading the Obama message across facebook and other social networks, and finally down on Florida, I saw my own mother sportings a Grandma's for Obama t-shirt...so...new generation? one generation? what ever it is, it is exciting...until the votes are counted...and beyond...

If you, whomever you are happen upon this Mozaik Media Blog.  Subscribe and I will take you on a ride of my opinions and insights to this new media evolution...looking forward :)}
